a. Magnetic Resonance Imaging:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) represents a continuous revolution in medical imaging. Our Tesla 3 state-of-the-art MRI system from GE, USA is capable of imaging virtually the whole human body. The major strength of MRI includes - Soft-Tissue Contrast, Multilanecapabilities, Non-invasive technique, lack of ionizing radiation and being very safe with no known harmful effects. It has already established itself as primary imaging modality with proven diagnostic superiority in the evaluation of brain and spine. The most common indications being established the evaluation of the musculoskeletal system and pelvic pathology. Additional applications present with our system are:
- MR Angiography with 3D Imaging
- MR Cholangiopancreatography
- MR Urography
Advanced applications like diffuse & perfusion imaging of stroke, tractography, volumetry spectroscopy are possible only on this Highfield 3T system available with us.
b. CT Scanning (Green CT Scanning with lowest Radiation Dose):
The 128 slice CT scanner of the hospital is an advanced 128 Slice CT(Optima 660) system from GE, USA. The machine provides excellent quality pictures in low radiation doses. Highly qualified radiologists ensure that the scanning process has been correctly performed and interpreted in order to gather maximum possible information from the study. It is capable to perform all non-invasive angiography (With the advanced post-processing the workstation) like:
- Cardiac Angiography
- Renal Angiography
- Vascular Angiography
c. DEXA Scan (Bone Densitometry Scan):
Dexa scan is the best technique to measure bone density of a patient. Two X-ray beams with different energy levels are aimed at patient's bones.when soft tissue absorption is subtracted out, the bone density can be determined from absorption of each beam by the bone. High-end DEXA Scanner with fan beam technology which reduces the scan time. The DEXA scan is typically used to diagnose osteoporosis.
Early detection of breast cancer decreases the need for surgery and has a very high cure rate. Routine mammography may detect cancer before it grows to a palpable size. The radiology department is equipped with a senograph800 T age machine. This machine provides excellent pictures with minimum x-ray exposure, giving a much-reduced radiation dose to the patient.
The ultrasound suite is equipped with two machines. These machines have special probes to examine prostate, testis, breasts, thyroid, etc apart from the routine abdomen 4d ultrasound.
f. Color Doppler:
The color doppler machines are high-end machines with elastography. This is state of the art ultrasound equipment which gives colored pictures of arterial and venous blood to diagnose diseases or obstructions in the blood flow more effectively.
