Organ Donation

SPS Hospital launches an organ donation awareness drive to encourage the majority of people to become organ donors and save precious lives.

In India, more than half a million people need an organ transplant – from kidneys to the heart, to the liver. However, every year, less than a thousand transplants are performed due to the lack of required organs. A brain-dead person can donate 8 major organs, including the heart, two kidneys, pancreas, two lungs, liver, and intestines, along with hands, face, tissues including the skin, bones, cornea, blood vessels, heart valves as well as connective tissue, and lastly, bone marrow, stem cells, peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC), and umbilical cord blood.

Your Decision To Donate Your Organs After You Are Deceased Can Save Up To 8 Lives!

SPS Hospital is also a center for cadaveric and Live donor transplants, providing the organs to the majority of the hopefuls. We are organizing this drive to provide more information about organ donation and transplantation and to provide facts so that the myths and misconceptions might not discourage you.

As per the Indian Government, “Don’t take your organs to heaven with you. God knows we need them here.”
